Pfeifer Wins Inaugural Half Moon Bay Marathon
A couple months ago, I was running with Jen Pfeifer, who told me that they were putting a marathon together that would run through the neighborhood she grew up in.
It was to be the Half Moon Bay International Marathon, and she was really looking forward to running it.
This past Sunday, the race was on and Pfeifer ran it in grand style–winning the women’s race and finishing 6th overall in 3:05:57.
The course was a mix of road and trail along the ocean, so times weren’t super fast but the views were great.
“I have run on all those sections of the trail at some point but putting it all together was pretty spectacular,” said Pfeifer. “I do think that this will become a very popular race just like a lot of the Marin races and Big Sur since the location is so beautiful.”
The men’s race winner was Scott Dunlap, of Woodside, who finished in 3:00:35, but Sacramento’s own Adam Pomeroy was 2nd, in 3:02:59.
